Clifford Park today launched the Young Brumbies Club, a community initiative that aims to connect children to Toowoomba’s long and rich history of over 150 years of thoroughbred excellence.

The Young Brumbies will connect children, 12 years and under, to the Clifford Park event calendar with invitations to a series of activities and events that will inspire creativity and capture their imagination.

Commencing this Saturday December 5, the Young Brumbies is available at every race meeting throughout Clifford Park’s Summer Racing carnival and will provide children with entertainment on the venue’s Front Lawn.

The Young Brumbies mascot, ‘Bernie’, aptly named in honour of Toowoomba’s iconic equine athlete, Bernborough, will also be trackside to partake in the activities.

‘Bernie’ will be joined by a special visitor from the North Pole on December 5, December 12 and Clifford Park’s special Christmas Family Twilight Event on December 19.

Toowoomba Turf Club Chief Executive Officer, Blair Odgers stated that the Young Brumbies will further enhance Clifford Park’s community initiatives.

“Clifford Park is a large part of the local community and the Young Brumbies aims to connect our next generation of children to a long chapter of Toowoomba heritage,” Odgers said.

“The Young Brumbies will foster Clifford Park’s history including our racing greats such as Bernborough and late trainer and Hall of Fame inductee, Jim Atkins.

“We are extremely proud of the Young Brumbies and look forward to welcoming our next generation of inspiration,” Odgers said.

Children 12 years and under are welcome to join the Young Brumbies and the $15 membership includes a list of benefits, such as;
