Kate Kirk Takes The Crown…
A country girl at heart and only 27-years-old, this year’s Face of Weetwood has been a champion in rural communities.
In just over a month Toowoomba’s favourite racing event will kick off, bringing droves to the region to basque in the glory of the on-track talent. Every major event needs a glowing ambassador behind it, with the Toowoomba Turf Club announcing 27-year-old Kate Kirk as the 2025 Face of Weetwood.
Ms Kirk grew up on a cattle station and has competed in the ring with off the track thoroughbreds, leading her to now own a gelding trained by Tony Gollan. “It is an absolute privilege to be named the 2025 Face of Weetwood and I can’t wait to help spread the word about this iconic event” she said.
The ambitious vet nurse doesn’t shy away from a challenge and prides herself in growing both personally and professionally.
She was nominated for the Queensland, Rural, Regional and Remote Woman’s Association’s Young Woman of the Year in 2023, a testament to her efforts in trying to provide retail opportunity in rural and regional communities.
Ms Kirk will represent Clifford Park at upcoming 1EQUINE Weetwood events including the Weetwood Golf Day, Barrier Draw, Weetwood Calcutta Sportsman’s lunch and race day, appearing as a guest judge for the Laser Clinics Australia Fashions on the Field event.
Toowoomba Turf Club chairman Jason Ward said the club is excited to welcome Ms Kirk as the 2025 Face of Weetwood. “Kate will play a key role in elevating the profile of the 2025 1Equine Weetwood Carnival both locally and interstate,” he said.
