Toowoomba’s inaugural Summer Racing promotion launches this Saturday December 5 at Clifford Park from 4pm and it is set to entertain the whole family.

Eight events have been scheduled for Summer Racing; December 5, December 12, December 19, December 31 and four dates in 2016, January 9, January 15, January 22 and January 29.

Three key events have been highlighted throughout the Summer Racing calendar to cater for the entire community; Christmas Family Twilight on December 19, Bundaberg Rum New Year’s Eve Party and the Australian Summer Night on Friday January 29, 2016.

Toowoomba Turf Club Chief Executive Officer, Blair Odgers believes summer racing in Toowoomba should be celebrated by the local community.

“Summer is a wonderful time of the year with lots of cultural celebrations such as Christmas, the start of a new year and of course Australia Day in January,” Odgers said.

“Clifford Park has aligned its racing calendar to enhance the community’s celebrations over the summer period.

“We have programmed key events to encourage patrons from different segments of our community.

“Families can enjoy a celebration of Christmas on December 19, revellers can bring in the New Year and our diverse mix of cultures can come together on Friday January 29, to celebrate all things that make our wonderful country great,” Odgers said.

As an added incentive to attend these events, Clifford Park in conjunction with Vanderfield Toowoomba, are giving members of the community a chance to ride on horsepower of a different kind, in the John Deere D150 Ride-on Mower Competition.

Be trackside on December 5, December 19 and December 31 for the chance to participate in an obstacle course race on Clifford Park’s race track following the last race.

Each heat winner will receive a John Deere Push Mower, valued at $550.

The three heat winners will battle it out in the final on Friday January 29, 2016 to win a John Deere D105 Ride-on Mower valued at $3,190.

Visit Clifford Park this Saturday, December 5 and pop your entry in the draw by 7pm for your chance to compete in the first heat.
