EXECUTIVE SUPPORT OFFICER

The Toowoomba Turf Club (TTC) at Clifford Park Racecourse is the largest racing centre on the Darling Downs conducting over 40 race meetings per year. The TTC is currently looking for new members to join our progressive team.

Reporting to the Executive Support Officer is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administrative operations of the Toowoomba Turf Club (TTC) and providing secretarial support to the Chief Executive Officer and other members of the Executive Leadership Team.

To succeed in this role you will be exceptional at the following duties;
• Develop, maintain and improve club operations plans to ensure the efficient and effective conduct of all TTC race meetings,
• Updating company policy and procedure documents and proactively identifying process and efficiency improvements.
• Providing secretarial support to the Chief Executive and wider management team including diary management and minute taking.
• Customer database management, including processing of new member/trainer applications, annual renewals and payments.
• Coordinate weekly rosters for all raceday and tote casual customer service staff,
• Coordination of monthly committee papers and ensuring that follow-up actions are completed in a professional, accurate and timely manner.
• Maintaining a high standard of service to members and clients and promoting a positive image by displaying friendly, courteous and effective customer service.
• Assisting the Chief Executive Officer in various projects as required and providing general administrative support to all departments when directed.

To be successful in this role you will have;
• Diploma in Business Administration (or equivalent).
• Minimum five years’ experience in an administration, PA or events/project support role.
• Strong level of written and verbal communication
• Strong understanding of customer service
• Racing industry knowledge and experience desirable but not essential.

ADMINISTRATION OFFICER

The Toowoomba Turf Club (TTC) at Clifford Park Racecourse is the largest racing centre on the Darling Downs conducting over 40 race meetings per year. The TTC is currently looking for new members to join our progressive team.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Administration Officer will play an important team role by ensuring the reception and administration operations at Clifford Park Racecourse are carried out with the opportunity to undertake a Certificate III training.

Duties include:
• Office coordination including answering phones, responding to emails and general enquiries, opening and processing of mail, preparation of corporate correspondence, receipting of payments, ordering of stationery/supplies and maintaining office equipment.
• Preparation of all race day administration task including preparation of the race book for each race meeting.
• Raceday office supervision at each race meeting.
• General administration support for all leaders (eg. document printing, collation, word processing).
• General office presentation (cleanliness of common areas, meeting rooms, kitchens, ordering of supplies)
• Process stationery orders.
• Perform general administration duties for function enquires and bookings as requested.

To be successful in this role you will have;
• Secondary school certification
• One year office environment experience
• Strong level of written and verbal communication
• Strong understanding of customer service
• Racing industry knowledge and experience desirable but not essential.

VENUE LEADING HAND / HANDYMAN

The Toowoomba Turf Club (TTC) at Clifford Park Racecourse is the largest racing centre on the Darling Downs conducting over 40 race meetings per year. The TTC is currently looking for new members to join our progressive team.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Venue Leading Hand will play integral supervisors’ role in the venue and facility maintenance team by delivering a high standard of maintenance and project work to ensure the upkeep and of the Clifford Park venue facilities and providing grounds maintenance support.

Duties include:
• Supervision of all maintenance and repair works outlined in the Clifford Park venue management maintenance plan,
• Identify repairs and maintenance works to be included in the Clifford Park venue management maintenance program,
• Ensure safe maintenance and record keeping of all Clifford Park venue assets and maintenance equipment,
• Lead and develop a committed venue team of six.
• Provide general venue maintenance assistance to the Racecourse department as required. These tasks can include bare are not limited to; mowing, lawn maintenance, asset repairs, cleaning etc.

To be successful in this role you will have;
• Minimum five years’ experience in a similar Handyman role,
• Minimum three years’ experience in a similar leading hand / supervisory role,
• Racing industry knowledge and experience desirable but not essential.

Barrier Attendants:

Toowoomba Turf Club are looking for Barrier Attendants to assist at Jumpouts on Tuesdays and Racedays on Saturdays.

Must have experience in handling horses and racing experience preferred.
